# Server & Network Infrastructure

For deep technical details, see "2 - Network Info" and "3 - Computers / Servers" on the Current Info shelf. This page is the executive summary.

## What's Running and Why

The home runs two Unraid servers (plus supporting network infrastructure) that host media streaming, home automation, document management, DNS/ad-blocking, backups, and this documentation wiki. Everything runs on the 10.100.100.0/24 network. The primary server ("BlizzRAID") does the heavy lifting; the backup server provides redundancy and additional services.

## Server Hardware

## How to Access the Servers

Both Unraid servers have web-based management interfaces:

- **BlizzRAID (Main):** [http://10.100.100.4](http://10.100.100.4) - Credentials in 1Password under "Blizzraid"
- **Unraid Backup:** [http://10.100.100.5](http://10.100.100.5) - Credentials in 1Password under "Unraid Backup"
- **File Server (AD):** 10.100.100.15 - Windows login: administrator / in password manager
- **Router:** [http://10.100.100.1](http://10.100.100.1) - admin / in password manager

# This Bookstack Instance

## About This Wiki

You're reading it right now. This Bookstack documentation wiki runs on the home server and is the central place for all household documentation.

<table id="bkmrk-urlhttp%3A%2F%2F10.100.100"><tr><td>**URL**</td><td>http://10.100.100.82/ (also https://docs.blizzhome.com)</td></tr><tr><td>**Runs On**</td><td>*\[Which server — e.g., "Main server in Docker"\]*</td></tr><tr><td>**Admin Login**</td><td>*See password manager under "Bookstack"*</td></tr><tr><td>**Database**</td><td>*\[e.g., MySQL/MariaDB running alongside in Docker\]*</td></tr></table>

## Backups

*\[How is Bookstack backed up? Automated? Where do backups go? How to restore?\]*

## If It Goes Down

*\[Quick steps to restart — e.g., "SSH into the server and run 'docker compose up -d' in /home/steve/bookstack" or "Restart the VM called 'bookstack' in Proxmox"\]*

## If the Server Dies

If the server hardware fails entirely, this wiki goes with it unless backups are available. Consider keeping a printed or PDF copy of the "Read This First" book and the "Getting Access to Everything" chapter somewhere safe (like with the important documents in the safe).

# Other Self-Hosted Services

All services below run on the home servers (BlizzRAID at 10.100.100.4 and Unraid Backup at 10.100.100.5). Web interfaces are accessible from inside the home network. Credentials are in 1Password unless noted otherwise.

## Priority Guide

**Critical** - Needs to keep running: Vaultwarden, AdGuard Home, MariaDB, Redis, Duplicati, Nginx Proxy Manager
**Important** - Useful to keep but not urgent: Home Assistant, Plex, Paperless-NGX, Immich, Bookstack, SABnzbd
**Nice to have** - Can be shut down whenever: \*arr stack, Jellyfin, Mealie, AMP, Speedtest, Pinchflat, Open WebUI, and everything else

# Domain Names & DNS

## Domains Owned

<table id="bkmrk-domainregistrarexpir"><tr><th>Domain</th><th>Registrar</th><th>Expiration</th><th>Auto-Renew?</th><th>What It's Used For</th></tr><tr><td>blizzhome.com</td><td>*\[Registrar — e.g., Cloudflare, Namecheap, Google\]*</td><td>*\[Date\]*</td><td>*\[Yes/No\]*</td><td>Home documentation (docs.blizzhome.com)</td></tr><tr><td>*\[Other domain\]*</td><td>*\[Registrar\]*</td><td>*\[Date\]*</td><td>*\[Yes/No\]*</td><td>*\[Purpose\]*</td></tr></table>

## Registrar Login

*See password manager — search for the registrar name (e.g., "Cloudflare," "Namecheap").*

## DNS Provider

<table id="bkmrk-dns-managed-by%5Bsame-"><tr><td>**DNS Managed By**</td><td>*\[Same as registrar? Cloudflare? Self-hosted?\]*</td></tr><tr><td>**How to Access**</td><td>*\[URL and login info\]*</td></tr></table>

## What to Do With Domains

Keep auto-renew on for any domain that matters (especially blizzhome.com if this wiki uses it). Domains that aren't needed can be allowed to expire. The registrar account credentials are in the password manager.

## Dynamic DNS / Reverse Proxy

*\[If you use a dynamic DNS service or reverse proxy (e.g., Nginx Proxy Manager, Caddy, Traefik) to make services accessible, describe the setup here.\]*

# How to Keep Running or Shut Down

## Option 1: Keep Everything Running (Easiest Short-Term)

The servers and services will keep running on their own for weeks or months with no intervention. As long as the power stays on and the internet bill is paid, everything will just work. This buys you time to figure out what you want to do long-term.

## Option 2: Keep Only the Essentials

If you want to simplify but keep some things:

1. **Keep running:** The password manager (if self-hosted), this Bookstack wiki, home automation, and DNS/ad-blocking
2. **Can shut down:** Media server, any hobby/project services
3. To stop a service: *\[e.g., "SSH into the server and run 'docker stop \[container-name\]'"\]*

## Option 3: Shut Everything Down

If you want to turn it all off:

1. **First:** Export/backup anything you want to keep:
    - This Bookstack wiki — *\[how to export, e.g., "Settings &gt; Maintenance &gt; Export" or backup files\]*
    - Any files on the NAS/server — *\[copy to an external drive or cloud\]*
    - Photos/media — *\[where they are and how to copy them\]*
2. **Then:** You can simply power off the server. Nothing bad will happen. The smart home devices will still work locally (lights, locks) but automations will stop.
3. **WiFi and internet** will keep working — those run on separate equipment (router/access points), not the server.

## Getting Help

If you need someone technical to help with the servers, reach out to:

- *\[Trusted tech-savvy friend/family member name and contact\]*
- *\[Local IT professional or MSP if applicable\]*

The detailed technical docs are in the **"2 - Network Info"** and **"3 - Computers / Servers"** books — a knowledgeable person can follow those.
